To qualify to purchase the Student edition of SWF Studio you must currrently be student or faculty member of an educational institution. The only proof we require is that your registration email be sent from your school account.
If you buy the Student edition and decide upgrade to the Professional edition later, you will be given a discount equal to the cost of the Student Edition. Save now, save more later, you just can't go wrong...
The student edition of SWF Studio has one feature limitation, but it's a small one. You can't change the Comments in Version Information for the applications that you build.
Regardless of what you put in the Comments field on the Version Tab they will always appear as shown below.
