ActiveX.isRegistered and ActiveX.crreateObject can fail if the InprocServer32 or LocalServer32 entry in the registry contain strings that need to be expanded.
One example where both of these ActiveX functions fail is with Acrobat Reader 8. On XP everything works fine, but fail on Vista (because the registry entries are created differently on Vista) they both fail.
