Any plans to add Linux support in SWF Studio?

Just checking to see if it may be in the works. Thank you for banging out the action script 3 support. Now I can give SWF Studio a real test run.

Nope. I think that trying to support multiple Linux distributions is a really bad idea, unless you have deep pockets and it fits into your business model or you are distributing the software as source that users can compile for their favorite target distribution. Even then, support for so many varied distributions will get unmanageable quickly if you get any real penetration. Of course you could always just ignore your users

Not all distros use the same kernel, the same window manager, the same shell, the same versions of all the common libraries, etc. There are a lot more variables to take into account to support Linux than there is to support the various flavours of Windows. Because of its market dominance, the issues with Windows are more widely known, better understood and solved faster than on other platforms.

The basic choice we had as a company was to focus and be the best in one area or spread our resources and suck at everything. We chose not to suck
