I've uploaded a new version of the GetURL plugin that allows you to provide an optional download destination. If you leave out the destination, GetURL works like before (downloads to the temp dir).

I've built an example that does an online check (using the SysInfo plugin) , before it attempts to download the file. Download the example and check it out...
