Flash IDE version compatible with SS?

I have Flash Pro CS3 and am thinking of signing up to the Adobe monthly program which gives access to most current versions of their software.

When 3.9 comes out what is the latest compatible version of Flash IDE that will be supported? With all the help integration and SS neccesary files that get auto loaded into flash.

I have not used the flash builder program but my understanding from reading past forum posts that SS also integrates or works with Flash Builder as well? Not sure on version compatibility there or how that works.

Is there any update on the progress of full version status of 3.9.x?

Thanks.

3.8 was tested with Flash CS4 and that's the last version that the integrated help will be installed for. You can use 3.8 with CS5 and CS5.5 if you use the AS3 classes instead of the SWC.

3.9 installs integrated help for CS5 and CS5.5 but the same restrictions exist for the SWC, it's no longer compatible and we'll be dropping support for the SWC in the future, so don't fall in love with it.

If you search the forums for "helpsync", I believe Derek described a workaround for getting the integrated help to work with CS5 but it's not an officially supported solution. Your mileage may vary.

The current version is 6. Not sure about the full dot release there.

Apparently there have been some changes in 6 compared to 5.5, I don't know all the details. I currently have CS3 but if I go with this Adobe Cloud the available version is 6.

If I do upgrade I will check out what was posted about 5 and 5.5 and let you know if it works for 6 or not.

Thanks.
