Printer control
Hi, there.
According to my recent problem with printers, it would be nice to have some control over printer errors: - to know whether they are connected or not - to know if the print job has finished successfully or if there has been any kind of problem . Obviously it would be nicer to know exactly the cause of an error (like if the printer has run out of paper or ink, etc.) but I think I ask Santa Claus this gift. Thanks.

I wish this one too: knowing if a printer is connected or not would be great

The thing that makes printing in Windows so easy (the print spooler) also make this a bit of a pain. The spooler is always on so you can always print. However, if the printer is not available your print job will sit in a print queue until the printer is online again or forever, which ever comes first. To get any realy control we'd have to give you access to the print spooler and a job id for each job you sbumit. I'm pretty sure there's a way to get the real status of the printer though too, it would be a lot easier to check that before you print. I'll put this on the wish list
