Books

Hi all,

I am about half way through a new book I picked up last week, and while reading it I figured it would be useful to anyone and everyone in business of any kind, I have just googled the book, and it seems I am not the only one that is impressed with the ideas and concepts it discusses.

I then thought about a lot of the other titles I have purchased that may be useful to others, and figured it might be worth starting an area on the forum where we can all recommend titles.

So, the book that prompted this, is:

What Would Google Do? by Jeff Jarvis - just google the title......

What Would Google Do? "is an exceptional book that captures the massive changes the internet is effecting in our culture, in marketing, and in advertising.." (buzzmachine.com)

I have always been very customer focused (hence my admiration for NC's customer service and why after two questions on forums back in '03 - one to MDM and one to NC - that I chose, and have stuck with, NC) so I was always going to agree with a lot of the ideas in the book, what I wasn't expecting was just how interesting and informative it would be - for a mere £14.99 (GBP).

There are a couple of Marketing Directors I work with, and I am seriously thinking about buying them both a copy - they really do need to be brought into the 21st Century.......and this book is that good it could do the trick.

The way businesses work and interact with their customers is changing due to the Internet and the likes of Twitter and Facebook etc, and this book gives you the heads up and details what the really successful brands have done to achieve their status. What mistakes they have made, how they have recovered from them, and then gone on to re-invent themselves.

It's a must read...

Regards

Paul
